Title: Monitor for a new cabinet Merit
Post by: Scottie318 on August 20, 2004, 03:23:58 pm
I have just purchased an empty cabinet that was designed for Mega Touch games.  It has pre-drilled holes on both sides for mounting a monitor.  I have posted two pictures (front and back of cabinet) online.  These are stock photos and not the bestquality.  I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction for a monitor for this cabinet.  I have checked Happ Controls for a Merit Monitor but I want something a little larger than 13".  The dimensions from the left side of the cabinet to the right side in the area where he monitor goes is approximately 19.75 inches wide.  I have a general understanding of how to assemble this although the monitor seems to be the most difficult part.  If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

The second pic is located at www.scottiespad.com/arcade/back.jpg ???

IMHO the best thing to do with a cab like that is mount a 19" arcade monitor vertically and just run vertical games on it. Centipede, Galaga, Scramble, Galaxian, 1942 etc.

How wide is the cabinet between the sides?

If it is 23" or more between the sides then 2 player horizontal with a 19" monitor is great.

If 22" wide, then ONE player with a 19" horizontal monitor.

if 21" or less, than One player with a 19" vertical monitor.

Its 21" wide, 26" deep, and 62" high.   Can anyone recommend a monitor (preferably something that is easily mountable) for this cabinet?

Ok, get a 19" and go vertical with it, or if you want a horizontal monitor then get a 19" computer monitor.
