Title: MAMEWAH Error 70 Permission denied + NES Emu
Post by: DaveJ-UK on August 20, 2004, 06:29:48 am
I have MAME working fine as the first emu.

I've just added a NES Emu with a bunch of ROMS but I get the following error when I try and refresh the list:

Error '70': Permission Denied

When I click OK (which is the only option), MAMEWAH exits to Windows. Music continues to play until I click OK.

I have checked all the paths and they appear to be OK. None of the folders are set to read-only as far as I can see so this really has me stumped.

I had this error a while ago when I first installed MAMEWAH. I can't remember how I got around it but I have a feeling it was caused by a folder being read-only, which is not the case this time.

I googled and searched the forum with no joy.

On a seperate note, what is the best NES Emu to use with MAMEWAH? I currently have GoodNES which came with the bundle of roms I downloaded.

If you're using Win98, try the workaround here (near the bottom, referring to Run Time Error 75):

Try FCE Ultra or VirtuaNes from http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm

I'm running VirtuaNES from the link that Minwah provided and I am having NO problems with it on my cab  :)
