Title: Mamewah seems to hang at shutdown
Post by: greywolf22 on August 18, 2004, 11:21:17 pm
Hey guys,

Sorry tried to go out and do a search on the mamewah forums, but for some reason can't get to them tonight... anyway, I am having an interesting problem with Mamewah and for the life of me can't seem to figure out what happened.  I'm running Mamewah on Windows 98SE...everything was working fine until about a week ago (about the time I started adding other emulators to Mamewah and enabled the sounds)...Now it seems that practically everytime I go to exit Mamewah (either exit to windows, or exit and shutdown), the screen just hangs.  Doesn't shutdown or do anything (also can't seem to minimize it to see if something is holding it up in the background).  I've even gone so far as to attempt to exit immediately after it launches (in otherwords I don't select any games, play anything etc.), and it doesn't seem to do it from any one emulator or screen in particular.  Any thoughts on what I can do to begin trouble shooting this?  I've defragged and ran scan disk on windows itself.  Any other suggestions?  Did a search here and didn't come up with anything, and will do a search on the mamewah message boards when I can access them again, but thought I'd start here.  I'm running the latest version of mamewah and MAME .83.  Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated.  :)

This is a known bug which seems to affect some Win98 systems...Disable (remove) your exit sound, and if that does not work, then disable all your sounds.

I have been completely re-writing the sound code in MW, so I am pretty confident this should be fixed next release :)

Thanks Minwah  :)

I'll try disabling all the sounds and see if that works.  I'm really looking forward to the next release.  Thanks again for an awesome product  :)
