Title: No Display! TV-Out on ATI Radeon
Post by: jerschwab on August 18, 2004, 04:06:50 am
Hello All!

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 with TV-Out.  I couldn't help but play with the display settings for the TV in Windows, but now I can't see any display with either the TV or the computer monitor!  I don't know what I did, or how to get it back!  Essentially, it seems as though the card is broken... but that can't be the case!

Is there a way to reset the card so it will output to a computer monitor again?

Any help would be much appreciated, I searched the ATI website trying to find an answer but couldn't find what i was looking for.

Cheers!

That's weird ...

Does it only not show in Windows, or when the system is booting up as well? If you can't get a visual on the tv or the computer monitor before it gets into Windows then I don't think it's a driver issue. Maybe the card somehow got loose?

But if it's only in Windows, I suggest booting into safe mode (keep hitting F8 while its booting up (i *think* its F8)) and then do a system restore from the day before, which should reload your old driver configuration back to when it was working.

I think I found out the problem.  When the computer was booting up, it was going into the BIOS automatically because it wanted me to change or check one of the settings there (not sure what caused that).  With the component video connection, nothing shows on the screen until the OS loads.  I was able to find this out by connecting the S-Video cable instead.  For some reason that worked.

Thanks for your help!

Try restarting in safe mode, and set the video resolution to TV res, enable TV out, and restart
