Heya people... fresh noob here....
I made up a control panel the other day, and decided to work on the overlays I wanted. I'm using a modified 8 button layout (similar to Sliksticks, I'm told) and have a bunch of free space underneath each player area (I'm a big guy with big hands, and I hate it when the control panel/t-molding gouges big creases into my palms when playing for extended periods of time).
I'm using standard gauntlet-style colors (Green, red, blue, yellow), and I started on red and blue and put some nice simple vectorized graphics of various characters who's outfit/colorscheme was of that color (F'r instance, sonic the hedgehog on blue, Mai shiranui on Red, etc).
The problem I have is finding somewhat recognizable characters to fit in yellow. Currently I have Pacman, Homer Simpson, Wolverine, with a tentative Pikachu.... and that's it.
Since the other panels will have at least 1 female character (Chun-Li=Blue, Mai=Red, Lei Fang=Green), I'd like to have a female character for Yellow that isn't Marge simpson...
Can anyone give me ideas for a few yellow characters (male/female/other) to flesh out my yellow player overlay? I'm willing to take the idea of 'alternate outfit colors' in a pinch, but I'm pretty sure there's gotta be a game-lady out there in some sort of yellow outfit...

DUDE! STEVE! Whoa... can't believe I even forgot he was yellow.
I'm just wondering if there's something subliminal in the video game culture to where yellow is only supposed to be for pac-man or other small animal-types.
And was Mike from TMNT yellow, or was he orange? I think the comix had them all as red masks, but I can't remember.
Thanks for the suggestions though, especially the TMNT one... I can pop out some TMNT graphics for each color, and it will match, whether or not Mike is yellow or orange. Thanks much!!!
What about fighting games? Anyone know of any fighting game types that had yellow? I think there was a karate-type yellow outfit on someone in one of the later SF3 games, but can't find it... Or, were there any women in yellow outfits?

Duh... Scorpion... good find on that one... and technically, I guess I could even use the same graphic on each of the different overlays (Reptile, scorp, subzero, and uh... ermac or noob saibot or whoever the red one was). Or use Cyrax/sektor on red/yellow...
Just found that "Sean" is the yellow kicker/karate guy from SF3. Can't find a decent 'character list' online for any of the later SF/SVC/MVC games to find out if there are any other 'main color yellow' characters.
What about the female side of the house? Are there any women in games wearing a yellow outfit? (Besides Lei fang in her near-nonexistant yellow bikini)

You could just get a pic of the girl you want and change the hue.

Makes sense actually... since 90% of the characters out there have simple palette swaps anyway, depending on which button you press when selecting...
For those of you interested, he sent me a pic of a simple palette-swapped chun li in her 'old school' outfit, but having yellow fabric with blue 'piping', instead of the normal 'blue with gold/white' from SF2.
Thanks mate. I'll go ahead and get these up and running, and then see if I can figure out HTML enough to post them for other people to use (if they're not too damned annoying to look at). I figure this community has helped me enough while lurking, might as well give some back, neh?

Well I only know this because my 5 year old daughter loves the game :). One of the sailor moon characters has a primarily yellow outfit. Can't remember which one though.

Didn't Joe from King of Fighter wear yellow shorts? (or were they orange now that I think about it)
Keeping with TNMT, you couldn't go wrong with April O'Neal for a female wearing yellow.

yeah but technicly the valkerie is supposed to be blue =p
on my legends machine i refuse to play the wrong color guy, if im a warrior i have to be red, lol
