Title: has anyone successfully uncovered pac man side art that was painted over?
Post by: rob1234 on August 15, 2004, 11:08:06 pm
I have a midway pac man cabinet. It was painted over yellow, then painted green on top of that. I have heard it is very hard to save the artwork on these games since it comes off with the paint. Has anyone successfully uncovered the artwork? And if you have could you give me some advice on what I should use/do?

I sanded the paint off of mine just enough to repaint the original. It was pretty beat up anyway.Heres a link:

Sorry, man.  Pac art is notorious for not surviving well from paint removal means.

If it's any consolation, the art is really simple (it was stenciled on) so as long as you can see most of it you should be able to paint it back on, using the original as the template.
