When I was 12 there was this big kid and he took my Quarters that I had stacked on the game to reserve the next game :'(

I remember on time I was playing Mortal Kombat and doing pretty good. Well, this kid walks up, plops a couple quarters in and challenges me to 2 player!! If the idiot beats me, it throws all that progress I had made , out the window!!
So, we started up, I got my man, Scorpion, and proceeded to whip his monkey @$$!! I killed him w/ fatality a couple times and he just walked off, leaving me to the single player game I was enjoying before ;D ;D

When I was 11 there was a Dragon's Lair game near my house... it was $1, a huge cost back then. I went to play it one time and this much bigger kid saw me put in the quarters and ran up and shoved me out of the way so he could play instead. Of course, this meant he had to turn his back to me to play.
I kicked him in the junk and took off on my bike. ;D

that DarkKobold has been a notoriously bad arcade person. He has been buying cabinets non-stop. He also lives on a third floor, no elevator! I've had to haul cabinets up and down for that @$$hole. He can't seem to stop either. He is on these boards everyday, trying to avoid work, and obsessing over his next cabinet!

I liked that story. :) He deserved it. Well, then again, that must have hurt pretty bad. I wouldn't wish that on anyone but I bet he didn't do it again. :P

At the arcade I went to in my youth there were 3 of us that were regarded as the better players. 9 out of 10 machines had one of us as the high score holder. We got very competetive. The one guy...I will call him Andy (since this is his name) could be a real jerk. The first thing he did was on Donkey Kong. He had the high score for a long time. DK did not save the high, so the arcade would put a 3x5 card on it. The girl working and I got along....I beat his score finally...and she made up a real nice card with jumpman (mario) on it with my score and my name. When he saw it he pulled it off and tore it up.
The next one was on Defender. He again had a score that stood for a while I was getting close and had many lives left. He came over and unplugged the machine while I was playing. Then he plugged it back in. He got kicked out for the day, but I lost what probably would have been my all time high on Defender. I made sure I beat his score a few days later...but I am certain I would have scored much higher the day he unplugged it. I was "in the zone" completely that day. You know you just can't start over at the 1st level after being that far into a game and still be "in the zone"

I'll play.
I was at a local shopping center. My mother was there shopping and I begged her to let me to go to the arcade to see all of the new games.
The newest game was Gorf. Some big kids were playing it. The guy playing said "beat it, kid".
I just wrote it off as big kid smack talk... to the game or whatever. After he lost a guy, he tuirned to me and said, "I said BEAT IT!"
One of his pals gave me a shove. I was 11, he was 16+. I fell in to the back row of machines.
Another one!
I was playing Dig Dug with a horde of "big kids" waiting for me to die. Fugar hit me with a flame blast. One of the kids shouted, "Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!"
I now shout "flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!" whenever one of my friends die by fire in Dig Dug on my MAME cabinet..

lol, that brings back a fond memory...
Whenever someone would die on Crazy Climber we would all repeat the "OH NOOOOOoooo!"
Everyone started doing it. When CC was removed no other game generated that response to the "death sound".
