Title: VirtuaNES
Post by: Halo on August 13, 2004, 09:06:17 am
Has anyone got VirtuaNES working with Mamewah? I'm having a few minor problems. I have my games list okay, loading screen fine, and I assume I need to 'show dos box'?? I get the little dos box .. and I can click 'Open' from the dos box and load the games right there no problem.

I can't figure out whats missing in between to get it to do the same directly from the Games list.

Also .. should I set the ROM extension to 'NES' as this is the extension in the folder? Or should I leave it to ROM .. and 'ROM only' as the list option?

This is the extension in the folder so it should be set to NES in the MAMEWAH emu config.

Here are my MAMEWAH settings for VirtuaNES.

Show DOS Box = 0
Send ROM Path = True
Use Long Filenames = True
Send ROM Extension = True

Mapping the escape key to exit (Windows version):

Open virtuanes.ini and change this line:

TBL00=18402E4026403140204000000000000017401140000000000000000000002D4012

to this:

That's great, all working fine .. :)

Just one small thing, when it exits, it shows the desktop edges for a split second before returning to the Mamewah menu .. anything I can do there, or is that a 'live with it' type affair?

Also, I read the layout.txt file and managed to change the layout / graphics for MAME no problem, but the Mamewah GFG file doesn't seem to have any options for the other Emulators .. Where do I go to change the VirtuaNES layout, or must this be done manually? I'm planning more EMUs, so hopefully this will also come in handy for those.

Thanks again.
