I have managed to locate an used arcade cabinet and monitor for $100.00 CDN. The person who is selling it says that it is ok , except that the monitor will need a "cap kit". Being a noobie at the whole arcade thing , but not electronics , I need some advice. I expect that the cost of 3/4" MDF will be around $120.00 to build a cabinet from scratch. Plus the monitor.
This seems like a good deal , but I have no idea how much a cap kit costs. I have reviewed the docs on the web on the replacement of the capacitors and I can do that.
The seller also stated that with an ArcadeVGA card and a JPAC I should be up and running right away.
Any advice , questions I should ask when I go look , things to watch out for?
TIA

Depends on the monitor, but cap kits cost in the range of $6-$10 bucks. Just bought a kit for my older 25" monitor (just got it with a cabinet as well). Now waiting for it so I can install it.
