Title: did I mess up my ps2??
Post by: derek1800 on August 11, 2004, 05:43:53 pm
I open my ps2 to start to install a power button for my cabinet and after I open it I cant even turn it on anymore. Anyone have any ideas of why this would happen?

Thanks
Derek

Maybe you tore the cable that connects the reset/eject button assembly.  Check that, or maybe head to richspsxparts.com for a helpful PS2 repair forum.

most likely its a problem with that ribbon cable.  it could be torn as mentioned, but more likely just loose or disconnected.  make sure the cable is securely attached to both the motherboard and the button assembly.
make sure the red LED on the reset button glows when you turn on the power switch in the back.

I dont even get the led to turn on so it must be a cable problem.
Thanks for the site
