Title: Marquee Lighting ???
Post by: MAME nut on August 11, 2004, 04:47:36 pm: I am going to need to replace the fluorescent light behind the marquee in my MAME machine. Will any fluorescent light from Home Depot work?? My concern is the ballast will cause interference with the monitor, speakers, etc. I know some lights use a magnetic ballast and other use and electronic ballast....which is better??

Post by: JustMichael on August 11, 2004, 05:37:08 pm: One thing you must consider is space. Obviously the 4' shop flourescents just aren't going to fit...
I used a couple 18" undercabinet flourescents from Home Depot ($7 each) and they have worked just fine. The one behind the marquee I had to screw right through the plastic side to get it mounted the way I wanted.

I used a light with a cover (which helps to diffuse the light a little better), but a standard open one would probably work okay.
