Title: Strange problem with Golden Tee Golf 2?
Post by: sofakng on August 11, 2004, 10:05:36 am
Last night I finally got my trackball and spinner all hooked up.  The first thing I did was the registry tweak to disable mouse acceleration in XP.

The spinner and trackball work PERFECT in Windows XP.

So... I started playing some games with mame command-line version using:  mame.exe <game> -mouse

Arkanoid worked PERFECTLY.  Champsion Bowling worked PERFECTLY.  Marble Madness worked PERFECTLY.  Cameltry worked PERFECTLY.

Golden Tee Golf 2 did not work perfectly.

When I first load the game (after inserting coins and pressing the start button) and it asks me to select a course, as soon as I move the trackball the game thinks the trackball is continously moving... over and over.  If I press a button to select a course the game just keeps automatically golfing for me (as if I were moving the trackball or something).

Did anybody else ever hear of such a problem before?

I have the exact same problem. The trackball works perfectly in every other game except GTG2. Maybe the sensitivity needs to be turned down in that game. I just got everything hooked up to lastnight so I'll check it out when I get back home.

That was a known error in MAME 0.84 (for all itech8 trackball games,) and was fixed in a subsequent release.
