Hello,
Have been reading this board for several years but never posted before. Recently obtained a Root Beer Tapper cab. It does not work, but it is in decent shape with all art work, tap handles, marquee and such. Not sure why it doesn't work. I know the Bud version has value. Tried looking on the boards here and ebay to try and determine potential value, but can't really find anything helpful. Not sure what to do with it, mame or try and figure out how to make it work, if possible (or sell it). I know I should have posted photos and I will if necessary. ANyone have any thoughts on this particular game and cab?
Thanks.

It's totally and completely worthless. Send it to me and I'll get rid of it for you ;D
(DON'T MAME IT >:( )

I honestly don't know its worth, but I'd definitely buy it off of you for a decent amount (if you have no offers or aren't gonna ebay it) if you're local.. where are you anyways?

Thanks for the replies. Just got it last night as a throw in with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 4-player working cab I bought. I have not listed it on ebay. I was hoping I would get it home and it would work, but no such luck. It sounds like it is getting power b/c I can hear a slight humming noise after I flip the power switch.
I am in central PA.

Hey, I'm interested in taking those items from you. Where abouts in PA do you live? As I'm close by. email me at ggkoul@hotmail.com
Thanks!

O man, I would love to have that machine.... I'm in NJ

Is the side art in color or in black n white?
-
The color vs B&W is Budweiser Tapper, not root beer tapper, IIRC.

You sir are correct. My Bud Tapper is B&W, wish it was Color. ;)
-
It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
There is a Bud Tapper for sale in Los Angeles for $850, and that one works perfectly and has a near mint cabinet. Being that games seem to bring more out here, thats a pretty good price. Root Beer Tappers usually go for about 20% less from what I have seen.
It depends on so many different factors. Ebay seems to be the best way to get the most money for games. Most of the time anyway.
If it was me and it was local, I would pay around $500 for a non-working root beer tapper. My 3 cents.
Peace!

Will try and get some pics up after work tomorrow night.

Any Tapper working or not is worth a bit of cash. Don't mame it out, just list it on ebay and watch what happens.

I just bought a Bud Tapper (bad sound, no foot rest) for $595. It was a good deal, but not as good a deal as American Demon got...
BTW, I don't see why everyone wants the "color" Bud Tapper. That dude is ugly, the side art is ugly, etc. The B&W (which should be brown and white) is much better looking. People only want color so they can go wah - wah - wah my Tapper is rarer than yours!

Here are the pics for those who are interested.

Looks good.
Since there's a bunch of people interested in the item. I would ebay it.

That's in beautiful condition (besides the CPO, which isn't bad).
Definitely throw it up on ebay and at least see what it goes for.

on the control panel, what does the cpo say above the tap button? i've never seen a root beer tapper (or tapper) in public before :'(.

Looks like "serve" to me.

Damn, that cab has seen alot of UV light (sunlight). I think your marquee is supposed to have alot of Red and yellow color in it, but it's all faded away. Same for your side art.
