Title: CPS2, aVGa & D9200
Post by: Kampfflieger on August 10, 2004, 08:19:34 am
Hi, regards from Costa Rica:

I have a few questions about video res:

1 - The avga has a CPS2 compatible resolution (384 x 224)
If so,
2 - How looks in a D9200 (Full or not)

Beforehand thanks

when you say CPS2, I assume you mean the hardware.. and not any game in particular.

If all you care is CPS2 games, then you don't need a D9200.. any CGA level 15khz arcade monitor will work.

As far as resolution and quality.  I owned a CPS2 with XMEN children of the Atom, and then installed a PC in my machine and ran MAME + AVGA + same monitor/controls/buttons + same game.

NO DIFFERENCE!

In fact, I like it better in mame than the real thing!  The reason being that with the real CPS2 board, it was running 2 cheap 6x9 speakers.  My machine now runs with better creative labs speakers + subwoofer!   ;D

Video quality identical, game speed identical, audio.. BETTER!
