Title: Anyone advise me on hooking up a surround sound system to pc??
Post by: big_garryb on August 10, 2004, 05:13:45 am
Hi guys,
i bought a surround sound system around a year ago from an auction and never used it. thought i could wire it to the pc.

there is a sub, control box and 5 speakers.  i thought the speakers should all plug into the sub-woofer. there is then a cable (looks similar to s-vid) which i thought should go from sub to controller box. I then had a jack-phono convertor to plug pc into the controller box. once al  is switched on i get the humming noise from speakers, but cant get any sound through......... am i wiring something up wrong??  the speakers were tested seperately and all work.

thanks for any help.
Regards,
garry

Is there a brand/model number on these speakers? It might help out if we can look up what connections it has on it.
