Title: Cruisin World, Offroad Challenge, etc
Post by: ekans on August 09, 2004, 07:36:29 pm
These games are so jumpy they are not playable on my machine. But games like Area 51 which I felt should be more resource intensice work fine.

I'm running Mame32 with an AMD2000 and 1G of RAM. An older ATI Radeon can't remember which one.

Any easy fixes to this problem or is it just too much for my machine.

Thanks!

Where did you come up with that logic?

area51 =2d

crusin =3d

Mame doesn't use hardware renderers, so any 3d game is slow by default. Plus crusin games are midway games and they use a very processor intensive sound chip. Crusin can't be properly played on even the fastest of fast machines atm.

Sorry for my ignorance, but as you see from my posts I am just into the game  ::)

Thought you would like that  ;D

Anyway I guess that solves my frustration...for now...

I think the real reason for the speed difference between the games mentioned is that Crusn uses a TMS32031. Even with sound disabled you won't be able to run then at full speed. I don't think the rendering of this game is a problem either.... I think I have read somewhere that even with the Rendering disabling the game does not run full speed.
