How do I speed up my mousehack trackball in MAME?

You know, so I can move it less and move the game characters and more?  I see that MAME has an analog controls setting, but I cannot seem to get good results from messing with it.  Ideas?Thanks,

You may have already tried this, but setting the 'dial settings' to 80% or more has worked fine for me in the past.

Try going into your computer's control panel and adjusting the mouse settings to be faster.
