is anyone using this setup in windows? I have read that the only way to get rid of screen tear is to use advancemame. I'd appreciate any advice from anyone using this setup.

I doubt you will find anyone with that setup. If you have an arcadeVGA you are not supposed to need AdvanceMAME. You do not need a special card to use Advmame, just one that is supported. Advmame takes control of the video card directly to output video. I use it and love it but it does take more time to set up and configure. The point of paying the extra money for the ArcadeVGA is so you don't need to use something like Advmame. It is set up natively to display true 15Khz resolutions. Having said that, the arcadeVGA will work with advmame but you will have paid the extra money for nothing as it would be just like using a regular old radeon 7000. Advmame has limited support in Windows, most people use it in DOS or Linux. I have seen a lot of people use an Arcadevga with a d9200 without issue. I don't know why you would be having trouble.

i don't understand it myself, but i have screen tear, in every single scrolling game. i just got the arcadevga recently and it is no longer a radon 7000, it is a 9200. I wouldn't think this would make a difference though. It would be nice if some people would tell me about their setups if they have the arcadevga and d9200. i figured tons of people would have responded to this since it is such a common setup now.
