that thing is about the most retarded vehicle ive ever seen. man this movie will suck. the batmobile of the new movie is going to be the goblin costume of spiderman.....suck.
-
Then I guess that means I'll like the movie, 'cause I liked the Goblin suit.... and I like the Doc. Oc suit in Spidy 2. ;D
-
Wow...that's pretty lame. He directed Memento, though, so maybe there's hope.
-
I saw some screens of the new batmobile a few months ago and almost cried. What an abomination. I suppose it is somewhat neat looking... different looking at least... but the batmobile it is NOT
-
What the hell is that??
Was that created by the team at Monster Garage?
-
Looks like a friggin' tank.
-
This is the first batmobile batman ever had. YOu have to realize that this is when he first started being batman. The car was made by wayne enterprizes for the military but he stole it.

and it still looks like --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules-- ;D

I wasn't too hot on Gobby, but Doc Oc was damn c ool. Better than the comic, IMO.

I thought he had just the motorcycle for a long time...

Like I said this is the FIRST batmobile.

The batmobile sucks in terms of going away from the traditional type of car...But I actually have high hopes for this movie. They've spent a long time trying to figure out a good script, how to film it, etc...so I'm hoping it will turn out to be a good movie and restart the Batman movie line.

When is the new movie coming out? And who is playing Batman?
-
It's supposed to be out in 2005 and IIRC Christian Bale is the new (old) Batman
-
The movie come out next summer. http://batmanbegins.warnerbros.com/

I recently read an article about this new movie, and I think it will be worth seeing. It covers the very beginnings of Batman, from the murder of his parents, to the finding of the batcave, his training in marshall arts, and his first fights against crime in Gotham.
The article mentioned that the rear tires on the new Batmobile are from a Hummer.

Not sure if this clip is from there or not, but they were filming in downtown Chicago last week. This coming weekend, they're gonna be filming a coupla miles from my house. Some shots along the lakefront on a stretch of expressway that was orignally planned to connect Chicago & Milwaukee. (Only about 3 miles of the expressway were ever built. It's actually used quite often by filmmakers. Easy to shut down since it's not used much. We used to drag race there in the late night hours. Never any traffic or police presence.) And some shots up in a nearby neighborhood as well, I think.
I like what they're doing with the film. A Frank Millerish "Batman: Year One" feel. If they can realize that the first Tim Burton Batman film was so popular because it wasn't campy and rediculous, this could turn out to be just as good.
IMO that Batmobile looks rediculous, but I'll try and reserve judgement until I see it on the big screen (or driving in front of me this weekend. :) )

Doug,
Those clips were from downtown Chicago on the night of August 7th. And yes the movie is supposed to be based on "Batman: Year One"

Probably not on the 7th, since it was posted here on the 5th. :)

Which means that it will probably have Hummer written all over the batmobile. Corporate tie-ins suck!
-
Ok, not the 7th.
There WAS similar footage on channel 7 on the 7th. The Chicago area filming is supposed to continue through the 21st.
-
that is such a cool design! :D
it fits perfectly with the idea for the film.. and is WAY more realistic than the future batmobiles. This looks like a REAL tough car.... cant wait for the film
