Title: IPAC driver issue
Post by: PiNPOiNT on August 05, 2004, 05:49:41 pm
Every time i start my mame cabinet my ipac is not getting registered by my computer, and when i check in device manage it has a exclamation point on it, and the note says "this device has a problem its registry entry is damaged or corrupted.   The only way i can fix it right now is to uninstall the device and have windows find and re install it again.  Is there a update driver i could use?  im just using the standard one that windows installs when you plug in the IPAC

any ideas?

Is it in USB mode?  If so maybe try it in PS/2 mode...

Are you uploading alternate configurations to  the I-PAC at all?  Got a fast CPU?

I've been working through an issue with my I-PAC with Andy, and it seems that the WinIPAC utility doesn't handle the timings necessary for programming the I-PAC very well if you're running on a fast CPU (Mine's a 3GHz P4).

Mine's OK if I leave it alone and don't try and program it at all.

It's a bit of a pain as it means for some emulators I still need the keyboard accessible, but Andy says he's going to get the loader part of WinIPAC rewritten.
