I want to turn my computer into a MAME/MESS only computer so when you push power it loads up a front end to select games only. Additionally, it would be great if that same computer could handle using a TV instead of a monitor. I have a video card with TV out (GeForce 2, I think). Any ideas on how I can do this or where to get some guidance on this? Thanks.

I recommend FreeDOS for the OS, AdvanceMenu for the menu, and AdvanceMAME for the flavor of MAME.

Will FreeDOS support modern graphics cards (not that my crummy GeForce 2 is modern), controllers, and whatnot? Additionally, is there a way to make it auto-load AdvanceMenu?

So what programs will I need in addition to FreeDOS, AdvanceMenu, AdvanceMAME, and AdvanceMESS to get this thing to run? Do I need a memory program? A GUI? ANything? And where can I get a good tutorial. When it comes to DOS-style O/S's, I am like a monkey with no fingers wearing a blindfold trying to type keyboard commands.
