I was thinking of doing an 8-liners chassis on a hitachi tube I picked up from my dad but I thought I would see if there are any regular arcade chassis' that are also of high impedance on the vertical windings?
I know the wells gardener k7191 is low (10.4 or so)so its out, so does anyone know if any other chassis' would take a tube with 54 ohms? I'm not currently building a game, just screwing around with these things so i want to keep the costs down....

Generally the 25" and larger tubes are low impedance.

Concur with Ken----All the 25"+ tubes I've seen are low impedence.

The RCA tubes used in the WG 4900 & 5500 series have a 28ohm vertical , Also all the Nanao MS8 series 25" tubes have a 36.5 ohm vertical.
All the Kortex 25" (Zenith Brand ) CRT's have a 32.5 vertical , and 25" Sanwa (Mitsubishi CRT ) have a 40ohm vert
You will be safe to use any Mitsubishi / sega 25" CRT .
The most universal s/hand chassis for a Yoke with 54ohms vert would be an nanao Ms8-26A etc
Also most of the Kortek / Sharp image 25" chassis will happily drive on of those CRT's .

wow thanks jomac--you may have given this old console tv new life--I'll post back with results (if I ever have any) Now to track down a 25" kortek chassis..they are likely stored just east of the hen's teeth exhibit.... ;D
