Title: shutting down my cab
Post by: akira on August 02, 2004, 04:28:18 am
hi there, ive just been searching the forums looking for a way to shut down the cab/system without using a keyboard or mouse... is this possible?

basically ive built the cabinet (hope to get thepics up soon) using an atx pc, ipac2 contoller, 2 joysticks + buttons ect..

I know its easy to power up using a button connected to the motherboards power switch, but was wondering if theres a similar way to shut the system down using a button rather than using the keyboard/mouse/windows ect?

The software im using is win98,mame8.4 & game launcher for the frontend.

any ideas?

many thanks for any suggestions!

and if its not i use a macro to great effect. i have mine so that pressing the fire button and player two button closes mame first (saves playcount etc then) and then shuts down. mine is win98 and it works fine

look in your bios... some have the option to shut down w/ power button (same as the way you boot up) and it will properly shut down the pc.

And for Windows, check Control Panel / Power / Advanced.
