I have a IPAC4 and i'd like to use only 1 shift button for all the shifting on my control panel, but from what i can tell as im doing it, it seems that i can only use "Shift 1" for programming keys for player 1 and player 2, and that i have to use "Shift 2" to program shifted keys for player 3 and 4, is this correct?
or can i use my "Shift 1" to program my player 3 start button to something else when shifted?
thanks for your help

I haven't tested it but it looks like you can choose shift1 for shift two in the table view of the program. Hey, just see if it works. ;D

That or I think you could wire the same button to P1B1 (Shift 1) and P4B8 (Shift 2) and it would work the way you want. (And program P4B8 to "1" also, not sure about this, though . . .

Yes that is correct. You must use the player 3/4 shift for player 3/4 inputs and player 1/2 shift for players 1/2. It's kind of inconvient I know but not the worst thing in the world. If you have an open input you can just wire the two inputs to the same button.
