Title: Used clrMAME to rebuild v0.36 ...missing files from roms
Post by: Nuttman on July 31, 2004, 07:47:28 am
I'm trying to build a complete set of v0.36 files to play classic games in a cabinet using an old 300 MHz Celeron I have.  There's plenty of discussion on using older versions for better performance.

I used the clrMAME rebuilder, a v0.36 dat file and my complete set of v0.77 roms.  After the rebuilder completes, I run the scanner and find roms with missing files.

Can anyone offer advice on how to go back to earlier versions?  Any advice on how to find these missing files from the early days of MAME?  Am I doing something wrong?

I've seen some talk on rollback sets posted in a.b.e.m., but was unable to find anything when looking through that newsgroup.

Any help, advice, guidance, etc. is greatly, GREATLY appreciated.

Post a fix.dat on ABEM and someone will upload your missing stuff.

Thanks, Peale.  Will do.

Is there a way to "export" the scanner list to a dat file?  I have the output to a log file, but will that suffice as a dat file or do I need to clean it up somehow?

Thanks.

Right click on the scan window and select save fix.dat file.

Ok, got it.  All the clicking I did, and I never tried the right-click trick  :-[

I have the file now and will get that to the a.b.e.m. group and see what happens.

Thanks for all the help!
