Title: Front end for windows games ?
Post by: derek1800 on July 29, 2004, 03:32:27 pm
I am in need of a way to play games that require a cd w/o having to put the cd so I dont have to reach into my driving cabinet to change to a different racing game.

FIXED by using no cd patches

**** Is there a front end that I can list all the windows games I have(1 lsit).*******

Not sure exactly what racing games you want to play, but you might want to check out www.megagames.com (http://www.megagames.com)

You could create an .ISO image of the CD on the hard drive and then mount it as a "Virtual Drive" using a program like Alcohol 120% (http://www.alcohol-soft.com/).

There are other virtual CD/DVD programs, but I already had Alcohol 120% since it's also a great piece of burning software. Try Google for more info.

Copy the contents of the CD to a folder on your HD and install from there. When your computer asks for the CD change the path to the folder on the HD. Should work depending on OS used.

There's a front end that you can buy call applauncher that should work for what you want to do.  try out the demo first.

sorry i dont have the link

its a dumb little program for 20 bux,

not the super expensive $250 program that you might come across when you google it

Applauncher for $20 is a total ripoff.  I use MameWah and you can make a PC Games list with it.
