I'm building another mame cab:)
I like to use standard PC monitors because I actually like the increased resolution over standard arcade monitors. I dont like the look of a TV at all.
Unfortunatly standard PC monitors typically stop at 22" sizes and I want a BIG 27" view.
I have been looking at the Happ Controls Vision Pro 27" SVGA monitor and I wonder if anyone here has some advice. Can I directly connect that monitor to my PC's onboard video card and run windows XP?
Can I really run it at 800x600 resolution in windows so I can play games like golden tee golf pc edition? Does the ActLabs light gun work with this type of monitor. Are there any limitations/constraints/special hardware needed? - I realize the resolution won't get higher than 800x600 but I don't want to go lower.
Are there any other/better brands of large (27") monitors out there that I can just plug my PC into and run windows/mame with at least 800x600 resolution. (My price limit is $600)

With a limit of $600.00 you should check out some display model HDTVs. Use the Tube variety. Heavy, but good clarity. I picked up a 36" for cheap. I see at my local wal-mart they have a 32: for $400.00 right now.
