Title: Physical power from PC
Post by: Scoobie on July 28, 2004, 11:16:09 am
I'm planning to take power from my ps to light my coin returns.  How should I physically get the power from my Y-connector to the coin return?

I was thinking of drilling a hole in my pc case to run the cable to my coin returns (not sure if this is such a good idea).

What's the best way to do this?

Pop out a drive cover.  Open the case.  Drill a hole in the side/front.  There's a lot of ways to do it.  It doesn't matter which way you do it, just do what makes you happy.

You could also do it through an empty PCI slot in the back.  Better yet, take that slot cover (each PCI slot should have one -- you know, the ones that you remove when you actually put in a card) and drill a hole in that and then run the power connector out of the back.  That's probably the cleanest...   I wouldn't go drilling holes into a case if you don't have to.
