Title: Super Monkey Ball
Post by: rchadd on July 23, 2004, 12:37:17 pm
Is there a version of Super Monkey Ball (or similar) for the PC.

I think it would be great to play on a cab using a trackball.

There was a kit with control panel on ebay for an arcade version.  It even had a banana joystick.  It was 400 bucks but if some MAMEr got it maybe we will get lucky with a ROM dump.  As far as I know there is no version for the PC, maybe a gamecube emulator but I don't know.

I think Super Monkey Ball is a naomi game, so I wouldn't count on seeing it in MAME any time soon. There is always the chance that one of the DC emulators will end up with decent naomi emulation sometime soon.

Never played it myself - it might be more marble madness based.

Hamsterball is a bit of a blend between monkeyball and marblemadness which modes that differentiate the two. There is a time challenge mode, tournament mode, party mode, etc. It is a fun game and for $11 it's well worth the playability.

It would be nice to see super monkey ball or other cool trackball based games.

I think Neverball is pretty much Monkey Ball without monkeys...I'm sure there is a link in the Software 'Cool PC games for cabinets' thread, or at www.timoproductions.com
