I'm so lame and to be honest I've been like this ever since I started my first cab. These boards have been so helpful I can't even explain. But I end up being undecided for days on end. Probably because there are so many good ideas out there, and also because there are so many "good" ways to do things. I'm going to need a therapist once I'm done... :P The options are endless that my mind is gonna blow up sometimes.
I sent this marquee over to a local print shop, they are charging me $35+tax CDN to print onto "Backlit UV protected" paper. I'll end up squeezing the marquee between two sheets of plexi. I have no idea which way I will attached the marquee yet to the cab, because again I am contemplating. ??? Can you say Loser?
What do you guys think? Not that I can change it because its at the shop, but I feel like getting blasted! :-\

I like your idea. The 'ice' effect is cool (heh heh) but why is the top transparent?
I'm also wondering what the TMNT character does on the marquee, it seems out of place (at least it doesn't match the rest of the theme).

I found a font called igloolaser on the net which is why the font looks that way.

Hehe yea I agree. My 3 year old loves Ninja Turtles and I was thinking of him while I made it. Its split up 2/3rds Daddy, 1/3rd son. :)

I would fill in the "ice" on top white, or at least make it semi-transparent instead of totally clear.
Do you have a link to that font? :)

I think the "designed by.." is redundant--people will know its your cab cause its in your basement--besides didn't rom do the background, someone else do the pacman characters etc? just a thought...

Out of curiosity, where are you having this printed? I'm Canadian too and would like to know my printing options.

You're right, but it makes me feel like important :P, even though half of it was designed by others. One things for certain, I will give out credit on my website when all is said and done.

Well I live near Windsor and all I did was call the local print/sign shops to get the best deal. Most places will print onto "Backlit" material, laminate it, and even attach it to acrylic/plexi for ya. I think in total this plexi will end up costing me around $40 CDN. The business is called Curry Reproductions. Seems high to our American cab builders, but it seems like we(Canadians) get raped on border duties all too often. I ordered t-molding from t-molding.com, I lose sleep thinking about the sur-charges I will be paying when they come knocking at my door. SO MUCH FOR NAFTA!
Whatever though, its fun making these cabs, and it'll be more fun playing with family & friends.

Here is the final product attached to acrylic. I'm happy with it, you like? More pics can be found on my Mame site 8)

A lot of folks coming to the house don't believe that I build my cab from scratch. It is actually a good thing that I put "Handcrafted by the Santoros, 2003" on the marquee.
And truth-be-told, there is a significant 'show-off' factor as well. I'm proud of the Cab.
