Title: FS: Major Havoc in Princeton, Minnesota
Post by: APFelon on July 20, 2004, 02:17:51 am
I went and visited an old co-worker of mine who is now doing home sales and repair... While looking over his stuff, lo and behold, there was a Major Havoc in really good shape.

It is in a Tempest cabinet, and he told me he was going to convert it back to a Tempest. "No!" I shouted. "Major Havoc is a collectable!"

After deciding not to sell a kidney to buy it, I am going to pass on the info to anyone interested.

Keep in mind, I am NOT the owner of this machine, I am simply passing the information on to anyone who might be interested. Any questions about the condition of the cabinet, the price, ETC should be referred to Joe (the seller).

Major Havoc (Tempest conversion)
1200$

He also wanted me to mention the Tempest he has for sale: 1500$.

He also has a pole barn full of stuff... I saw a BOTTS, a Gauntlet, and a few other goodies that might be of interest to a collector. Give him a call for information on what he has.

NOTE / DISCLAIMER: I am not the seller of these machines, so any questions and comments should be referred to Joe (the seller). I am not employed by him nor will I get financial reimbersement if he sells equipment. Joe and I worked together for 7 years, and I am spreading "word of mouth" advertising as a favor for a friend. If you know anyone who is in the market for a Major Havoc or are just looking for something interesting, go ahead and give Joe a call. He also does repair work; I would claim that he is one of the best techs (friendly and helpful, too) in Minnesota. If you do call, just let him know that Jon sent you so he knows I am doing as he asked.   ;)

$1500 for a Tempest?    I don't think I've EVER seen them that high.  Better be spotless and home use only and nothing replaced or fixed ever on it because it's all mint.

Edit: I'm just pointing out something extremely obvious.  Most Tempest machines on eBay have BIN's around $900-$1200 and most sell for less.  Asking $1500 is significantly high, considering the market value.  I was't bashing you at all, just noting that it seems this seller is out of touch with market rate.  If it was spotless/homeuse/perfect condition, perhaps $1500 is reasonable.

Just like my local vending place.  Anything with Pac or Gal in the title gets put up for $1100 no matter how bad the state of the machine is, even when they close for $700ish on average on eBay in better condition.

I'm not quite sure of what your intent and/or purpose of this reaction is. If you have an issue with the price or a question about the condition of the cabinet / electronics, you may take that up with the seller. Contact information is listed above.
