Title: Will this work with the J-pac?

I have a bad feeling the versus cabinet harness won't work with the j-pac.

any suggestions on how I could hook this thing up to a jamma harness, because I can think of a few alternatives to the j-pac but so far the cheapest method would be using it.

You'll have to completely rewire the cabinet to the JAMMA standard.

Urk; what a mess.

You would be better off to abandon all of that wiring and start again with a proper JAMMA harness

Looks like this bad boy's gonna have to be completely re-wired!  oh well, I have a whole box of wire crimps for my car stereos, I'll try to not mutilate the wires too bad but I'm pretty sure this cabinet will now officially become a standard Jamma cabinet thanks to my old simpsons jamma connector.  Thanks for the advice, this thing should be flippin awesome when its done.
