Title: Mamewah - Completly lost ... need a little help to begin ...
Post by: PedroSilva on July 19, 2004, 05:55:43 pm
Hi,

I've chosen Mamewah long ago and now that the cab is finished I begin to install it but I'm completly lost here. Could anybody give a little push just to start ... I think I'll be able to manage after that ...  ;D

Here goes:

I installed using the setup program - OK
Add the layouts zip to it - OK
Add the samplessound - OK

I start it and the 2 mamewah logos appear - OK (I think)

Now the questions:
- Where do we config the options for the FE ?
 - Any shortcut option ? Wich?
 - By hand ? To wich file ? .\FILES\mamewah.cfg ?

For now if you could answer to this it woul be a great help.

Thanks.

Minwah - a suggestion for the newbies:
- Add a "Quick start guide - step by step instalation"

I think it would be a great help. Your help file seems to have all the info but I don't know what to do first - sorry

Keep up the good work !!!

Download Dave Butlers Mamewah setup utility... it makes it so very very easy to setup mamewah......

Not sure of the link though, will search for it and edit this post when I find it.

Did you read MW Readme.doc?  I'm pretty sure I gave a step-by-step buide to setup MAME in there...

Everything is OK now, but I think the problem was on using the layouts ... are they OK ?
After a new install and without installing the standard layouts it worked OK ... It was like if the layouts were with a oversized font ...  ???

Well for me it's not an issue anymore ... pb solved ...  :D

I have had this problem before...I think opening and re-saving the layout might fix it...

Antix, you are my new hero!

I was trying to get this all set up as well - but I'm a Mac guy and I'm not in my element (I have a thread about this).

I downloaded that setup utility and it works great now. That is, after I figured out that Windows wants the rom files zipped (have to unzip them to use them on the Mac).

Thanks again! One hurdle down, many more to come.
