Anyone interested in 9 out of warranty hard drives to make homemade spinners. I work in computer retail so I get a lot of these all the time :)
best offer.

All different brands? From what I hear, WD makes the best HD for homemade spinner.

Just out of curiosity...Out of those Maxtor's are any of them a 20GB model with a sort-of U shaped circuit board on the back?
The reason I ask is that I have one out of an HP pc that the controller board died on. If possible, I'd love to recover the data off it, but I haven't had any luck finding the right revision of circuit board <2702 in the bottom right hand corner of the board if you hold the drive so the IDE connection faces up>
Here's hoping

But I get tons of old stuff all the time so i'll keep you posted.

I thought only really old (under 500 MB) drives had the proper bearing for homemade spinners...
