Title: Matching art names to rom names
Post by: mtalkington on July 17, 2004, 08:16:29 pm
Hi, all:

Right now, my Atari rom files are ever so slightly differently named than my artwork files, and Emulaxian doesn't seem to want to recognize the artwork unless it has the exact same name.

I've tried using Oscar's Art Renamer, but with no luck.

I don't believe that there is a way to change the "sensitivity" so that Emulaxian will recognize art that's very nearly the same name as the rom, not exactly.

But is there any kind of program that will let me take the name of the artwork files and match them to the names of the roms?

Thanks for any help/suggestions! Regards, Mario

How different are the artwork names? You could use a batch renamer like Flash Renamer (http://www.rlvision.com/flashren/about.asp) to remove dashes and underscores, or any common characters that appear.

This post is probably better suited to the Software forum, you might have better luck there.

The artwork file names all follow the good tools format.  You can use the good tools (http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/gtguide.htm (http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/gtguide.htm)) to rename all of your roms and then they should match.
