I've done it but I thought that it was the two far left bee's. Takes about 10 min for it to work. It works on the first and second levels.

dunno if the bottom left bee trick is for real but i tried it. it became so mind-numbingly boring after five minutes that i gave up!! i challenge anyone to go the full fifteen minutes or so to find out!

I did that trick. Once I got the pattern for them not to hit me when I'm at the right corner, I left my machine on all night and wook up the next morning and I am still standing in the same corner alive, and noticed that they stop firing too. So i killed the last two to go on the next round, and sure enough, they don't shoot at you anymore, so the trick works.

The trick works for Pac Man too.
Don't eat the ghost in the left corner until he stops shooting at you, and none of the ghosts will fire at you for the rest of the game.

Of course the no shoot trick works. I did this long ago, in the arcade as a kid, and turned the game over. You just leave the last two left/bottom bees and put yourself in the far right corner. Walk away, come back in 15 mins and continue play and watch your score SOAR! ;D
I don't know of many other cheats like that one. But some guy selling his "dig notes" for the Galaga "Mysteries" @ $50 is a joke.

thats what i found last night. sitting in the right hand corner works for a few minutes and then a bomb comes from the other direction. i guess the trick is to get it so that there is a pattern where no occasional 'from the right' bomb occurs. but how do you tell?

Does it help if you speed up with F7? I tried it whilst sitting in the corner but indeed I keep getting killed there :P

It does work, but here's the trick on the trick. When you first start (with just the 2 bees), keep your ship in the center or left side and dodge bullets for like 3 minutes..and THEN move your ship to the far right. I do this all the time, and never get killed. I guess once they target in on you to the left or the center then continue to bomb that area.
Try it out!

Yeah, I tried last night and kept getting killed after letting it sit.... so I finally gave up. Maybe I'll try again tonight by staying to the left center for a while and then see if that works.

Oh and one other option is get the galaga save state from mameworld somewhere that starts right after the trick has been done. Though I think it requires a particular version of mame. :P

well, ive tried this dozens of times now and i just dont have the patience to make it work, i cant get it so i can leave it for any length of time- still get bombed >:( . im going to pretend ive never heard of this cheat...

i did it! i did it!
i finally made the cheat work. left the last two bees as usual while i was sanding the kitchen floor. and as usual i heard the ship get blasted after a few minutes. damn. so i went over and positioned the second ship in the right corner. after a few minutes i realised that (light breaks from the clouds and angels sing 'hallelujah') :
they werent bombing me! so i shot one bee and in my excitement crashed into the second! double-doh. second stage and sure enough no more bombing. kinda weird not having to dodge bombs.
so, not only does it work, but you can lose ships trying! and i suspect that if you lose the first ship, it doesnt take very long before they stop bombing. might save ten minutes. ill have try it again sometime...
