well, in packs, I'm not sure.  I got all my marquees from mame.dk.

The guy that did the marquee packs is semi-retired from it now and they are sorta in limbo...  I think the arcade museum might have them though but as you know it's sor tof a "floating court" and you will have the see when it's up.  It's sad really... the flyers and snaps are kept up but it's been ages since there has been a good cabinet/marquee pack released.  I have a bunch for non-mame artwork I will be releasing once I take a break for a while though.  I have a lot for zinc and some very interesting cab pics for final burn :)

I recently obtained a complete set of MAME ROMs from Tombstones, and they were sent back to me on 8 CDs. about 1 1/2 CDs contain extra bits such as versions of MAME, front ends, and loads of artwork, cabinet pics and marquees.

Have a look at Tombstones and contact one of the burners near you and ask how many CDs they'd need just for the artwork.

All you do is send them the CDs and a pre-stamped envelope (or jiffy bag) so they can send them back to you.

Yeah but buying game artwork is kinda silly.  I'm also almost positive that they have the same outdated marquees and cabinet pics as everyone else as they just download the packs too.

You're not exactly buying it. It cost me 8 CDs and some postage each way. Grand cost of just over

Probably because it's a 110MB ZIP file! :D The cabinets, flyers and screenshots add another 130MB or so.

There are 1184 marquees in the file, so I guess it's reasonably complete.

I do think that your best bet is to contact someone from Tombstones and ask them to burn you a CD.

Yeah I was about to say... cause it's HUGE....

:)

Just the nonmame arcade artwork packs i'm compiling are going to weigh in at around 60mb.

Whilst we're on the subject of marquees, I'm having trouble getting Lazarus to display them. I guess they should be in the area above the screen shot, but it stays blank.

If I click through the various images in Mame32, it displays them OK. Does it have a problem with reading them from a large marquees.zip file?

Also (on a slightly unrelated note), I'm having trouble actually exiting Lazarus ;D

If I choose Exit from the menu, nothing happens. I have to launch a game, and then when I escape out of the game it drops me back to Windows.

I'm running XP Pro with Mame32 .61

Am I being really dense?

AFAIK, you need to have individual images on the marquees folder under mame. So no .zip here. I'll let HC corect me, since I don't use marquees.

The exit form the menu is meant to get you out of the menu, not out of Lazarus. To exit, just press the key you have set up as exit/cancel on the key configuration (ESC by default). What I noticed when I was starting to try Lazxarus out was that it takes a sec or two to exit (cleaning up, maybe?), but it does once you press the exit key. Oh, and I'm using XP Pro too and no, you're not being dense. :)

Good luck.
