Title: Mozilla web browser problems (fyi)
Post by: Dave_K. on August 17, 2002, 12:28:11 am
For anyone using Mozilla, you may have a couple minor annoying problems navigating and posting on this msg board.  I run Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 Beta on another machine.  Both have a unique strange problems.

Mozilla 1.0:  When posting msgs, the input area used to type your text will not scroll! You can continue to type in the window and it will post to the board, but you can't see anything below the first screen.  I've had the problem on another site (using different msg board) so it looks like a browser bug.

The scrolling text box problem doesn't seem to happen in Mozilla 1.1 Beta.  But rather, navigateing BYOAC has a minor problem where the Frame doesn't seem to register with Mozilla 1.1's back button.  After clicking on the msg board on the left, and navigation in the frame doesn't register with the forward/back buttons of the browser.  Arg!!!

Really?  I'm using netscape 7.0pr1, based on mozilla 0.999beta or something, and doesn't have either problem.  Sounds it's with the browser, but both those bugs would be fixed quick by the mozilla gang.  Check http://www.mozilla.org/ for bug list, fixes, patches, etc.

A little off topic for this thread, but browser related.....

On my main computer I have RH 7.3 and primarily use the Konqueror browser and sometimes Galeon.  Before the switch to this SE version of YaBB, the whole board was messed up when viewed with Konqueror.  The table at the top with all the various forums would show up at the bottom of the page was just a minor annoyance compared to some of the other funkiness that happened!

Since the switch to YaBB SE, the board looks fine in Konqueror & Galeon now.
