Post by: rob1234 on July 12, 2004, 12:42:28 am
Anyone out there know how to run console roms such as nes, snes, and nintendo 64 on a mame arcade machine? Do you need a seperate front end? Let me know what you think.

Yes it is very possible to use console emulators on a MAME cabinet and almost everyone uses multiple emulators on their cabinet.  There are many frontends that are very customizable and can run multiple emulators.  I use MAMEWAH (http://mamewah.mameworld.net/ (http://mamewah.mameworld.net/)).  Here are the other emulators I use:

Nintendo - VirtuaNES
Super Nintendo - zSNES
Sega Genesis Gens  - Use GensFE
Sega Master System - Meka
Playstation - ePSXe
Atari 2600 - z26

Many of these emulators have been modified for front end use.  You can get some of them at the screenshot archive (http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm (http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm))
