Title: Input sorting please read Minwah

Can anyone tell me how to sort my roms by 4-way joystick or 8-way joystick.  I am using a vertical monitor and Advance Menu for my front end.  Is this possible or do any vertical FE's have this filter?

There might be a proggie out there to separate the 4-way and 80way games by the ROMNAME and you need to create a GROUP in Advmenu (named 8-way and 4-way) and manually put the games in the right Group catagory. Thats the only way I know how. Look at the example in the Advmenu.rc, it defaulted to some of the catagories I think like "Adult, Fighter, Shooter, Platform etc...". That should give you an idea how to add the 4-way and 8-way groupt catagories.

Dk allows filtering by control type as does kymera... if you need advanced filtering then you need an advanced fe.  ;)

My FE does it also....BUT...

The input info in MAME v0.84 seems to be broken (not sure about u1 or u2).  So joy4way games (& doublejoy4way) games are listed under joy8way.  See Lilwolf's thread here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=59850&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Well, i definitely want to switch to Mamewah someday, but you got to add the vertical modes...

Also, can I sort by number of buttons along with 4-way/8-way...

MW can't sort on no. buttons atm, but I will be adding this, as well as vertical support hopefully...

My head is beginning to hurt from coding atm, so neither of these will be for a while :(
