All controls are wired and when I go into notepad/word and go into test mode for the I-pac all the controls register with the correct corresponding keystroke. When I go into MAME32 and start a game either the controls don't work at all or they perform the wrong function. I have reset MAME back to all it's defaults and have even installed a fresh copy and I get the same problem. I can however pick up the keyboard and it works fine.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

have you tried using WINPAC to program the iPAC?
-
Yeah I tried that and that is actually another issue I'm having, it seems like it is starting the programming process then it says "FAILED I-PAC NOT CONNECTED" or something along that basic line.

you need to switch your plugs(cant remeber what they are called) on the ipac. On the ipac there is a little black piece of plastic covering to wires that say mame. YOu need to take the little piece of plastic of and move it to "ALT".

I had the same problem with my I-pac 4. I noticed that if you leave the keyboard connected to the I-pac and not re-plug it back into your computer none of the controls will work right.
