From ebay, http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif

From the link you posted.

Likely what you have for auction was a marquee from a conversion kit.

Conversion kits as I understand have a "larger than necessary marquee" that can be cut to size.  What it "appears" to have happened is that whomever cut the marquee you have on ebay.  Cut what was necessary to fit in the marquee area instead of centering the marquee, then cutting it so that it fit *properly* in the marquee.

can't seem to insert the picture...the links are there anyway

LOL

The Ebay listing should read like this

You are bidding on a Street Fighter II (2) marquee. At some stage in the past someone has taken to it with a pair of sissors and cut it down to fit into a smaller cabinet. If you buy this marquee in the hope of installing it into your Street fighter two machine you will be sorely disappointed but regardless of how disappointed you are I demand that you leave positive feedback.

Sorry about the listing. Didnt know that it wasnt a regular size. I have revised the auction to be accurate and if it doesnt sell I will just list something else in its place.

The weird thing about this is that I have an SF2 marquee that appears to have been from a conversion...it looks like it's the whole marquee, but it's just a sticker (made of cp overlay material) stuck to a 1/4" piece of lexan/plexi.  Seems that SF2 has not yet reached "collectible" status, as I've been unable to find any sites that document the different types of kits/cabinets for SF and it's many relatives.

Now lets be fair.

It might not have been cut down but it's certainly not full size. It's possible that they made some marquees like that specifically as part of a conversion kit but if it's like most of the other "generic" conversion kits you need to cut the marquee down to size yourself.

I would not have thought that moon patrol to SFII would have been a popular enough convserion for them to print moonpatrol sized marquees  but I could well be wrong - it happens fairly often im afraid.
