Title: Isolation Transformers and A/v

Found this forum with some knowledgable peope and had a question.  I bought an A/V rack that has a Thordarson isolation transformer in it; 1500 va, and 120/220 up and down.  All that I have done with it so far is plug a lamp into it and it works fine.  What I was wondering about was, I am not totally sure that it has AC output.  Also, the transformer just has screw connectors on it for mounting into a rack. No ground line.  What am I supose to do with A/V eguipment and the ground lines?  By-pass the transformer?, ground to the bolts of the transformer (I think not).  Any help would be appreciated.

It is indeed A/C output. As for the ground lines, does it have any screws on the outside? If so, hook grounds to that, and to the ground prong on the source plug.

It's fine to leave the grounds un-connected. They're for human safety (unless the device is a radio), and the iso transformer will provide you with that.

The transformer is not enclosed and is bolted to the steel cabnet...The only screws on the unit are the screws that hold the transformer plates together.  I guess the unit will be grounded via the cabnet, and the same with the attached equipment.  All grounds to the rack.
