Title: Calling all computer geeks
Post by: old school gamer on July 07, 2004, 04:57:25 pm
No disrespect intended  ;D just wanted to get your attention. I am new to the whole MAME thing, having just finished my first cabinet I am now hopelessly hooked on the whole thing. I am already thinking of the next cab ( my wifes gonna kill me ). I am considering building on like 1ups (i think thats his name) The one with the rotating control panel. Anyway..heres where you guys come in. I am looking for somebody with the knowhow in south florida to help me with the wiring of track balls, buttons, spinners, the whole nine yards. In return I will pay $$ or build them a cabinet for them of there choice. I have been woodworking for over 20 years and have all the tools to properly build any cabinet. I am not currently ready to get this started I am just trying to figure out if this could be an option for me when the time comes. You can see me MAME machine at my website.  http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=16&ext=1&groupid=58833&ck= (http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=16&ext=1&groupid=58833&ck=) You will see by the pictures that I am using the x-arcade controller and I am using an x-box to run the system. Let me know if theres any takers.

Edit by moderator: fixed your URL.  You have to both open and close the tag around what you want done.  That goes for any YABBSE code, not just URL tags.

I am sure if I took the time I could probably figure out how to wire up the controls, but to be honest,I have no desire to do so. I enjoy the art of woodworking and am suprised that noone has responded to my post. I am willing to put 20 years of experience and knowhow one the line and to show anybody that is interested the finer points in woodworking. It is a great hobby to be interested in,not just for building MAME cabs but anything else you like. If anyone does reply and comes over to see ALL the pieces of work I have done in the house, they will be impressed. Thank you for the imput, I just thought it would be cool to share some information and knowledge with a fellow gamer.

Thanks to those who responded, ( both of you ). I guess I better start reading up on wiring. Both people that did responded were very interested in helping even though they did not live very close. Offering to build and send it to me or help through e-mails. This is a great site and everybody I have recieved replys or PMs from has been helpful and informative. Keep up the good work!  ;D
