I am cleaning up a Taito cabinet that was once a "Wild West" before it became an arkanoid. This puky orange and brown paint stripes around the outside of the glass. Some of it has already flaked off. Does anyone know what will take the rest of this paint off and leave the glass? I hae already tried paint thinner. I know it would be easier to just get a new peice of glass but there is a small "Taito" etched in the corner of the glass that I would like to keep. Any help would be appreciated.

Ditto that. Razor blades are the only way to remove paint from glass! (IMHO)

Paint thinner (aka varsol) works good on oil based paints, and some others, but Laquer thinner works much better to remove just about anything. (just watch it around ANY plastic).
If that doesn't work, razor blades work great, but if its on the edges etc... a 3M green scrubbing pad beats them (you can pick up different grits at just about any autoparts/finishing store eg napa/partsource).
My personal preference now to buying 12" square pads is to stop off at Safeway, or Save-On, and get a kitchen HEAVY DUTY scrubbing sponge. Can't remember the brand name, but their about 1.5" thick, kinda oval shaped, and come sealed in a wrapper, their moist in the pacl with some sort of anti-mold stuff. These pads work even better then the 3M scrubbing pads, and don't (or haven't yet) scratched any glass I've used them on. I've taken off paint, that spray on bathroom frosting, dried egg >:(, etc.. and they haven't failed me yet.

Jasco paint remover. You brush it on, wait ten minutes, then wash it off with cold water and a sponge. If you don't like strong chemicals like the paint remover then put the glass in the bathtub and let it sit under COLD water a few minutes. That will lift the paint and you can then scrape it off easily with a BRAND NEW single edge razor blade (or a common glass scraper).

Even better, and usually cheaper, is to go to a rental store and buy a few floor scrubber pads...same material, but now you have a few different "grits" to choose from, and you get (usually) an 18" round pad that'll last you quite a while.

Interesting work. Nothing to do with your cabs, but I will say that AUDIO ON WEBSITES IS REALLY ANNOYING! Especially if you're not expecting it, and the Pac-Man sounds wake up your sick wife.

Dudes! The razor scrapper worked wonders. It looks great. Took me a bit and then I followed up with some goo gone to get rid of the gunk left behind by some stickers. Thanx again.

Thats why when I surf at night, I either use headphones or turn the volume down. ;D
