I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best Racing Style game for the PC for use in an arcade cab. I'm looking for suggestions. It doesn't have to the newest thing, just FUN! That is what it's all about right?
Thanks for the advice,
Chris

Death Track 2000
Loosely based on the movie Death Race 2000 staring David Carrdaine & Sylvester Stallone.
this game was made in late 80s i think

I always enjoyed Rollcage. It's fun to drive on the ceilings. :)

Another game I like is Interstate '76. Think Mad Max meets Shaft meets Dukes of Hazard. Really cool game. Made in the Late nintes. I have Interstate 82. Put I haven't played it.
Beetle Adventure/Beetle Buggin is a cool game.
Racing game, no plot.

Back in the day, Quarantine was a sweet driving game... but sadly, it is only a DOS games, and the world hates DOS games and anything relating to my childhood so good luck finding it and getting it to work.

Finding it isn't a problem...

Wacky Wheels. This racing game is really old, but I used to love it. It is kind of like Mario Kart for the PC. Instead of shooting turtle shells, you shot hedgehogs. Good times!

Has anyone got any recommendations for good new PC racers? I'm looking forward to trying my wheel out...

Sims: Live for Speed and Grand Prix Legends. Arcade: Rally Masters, Micromachines 2, Dethkarz, Millenium Racers, Sega Rally 2, Screamer 2, Screamer Rally...

Crazy Taxi ??
I guess you could consider that a racing game.

I've been playing a lot of midnight club II lately (a lot like checkpoint racing in GTA).

Well, since I don't have a newer computer you are going to hav to deal with old stuff. NFS 1-3 & porsche. That game that came with packard bells, megarace?

<sniff> I love Interstate 76....I beta-tested that game for Activision, it was so ahead of its time, a real shame it didn't do better than it did.
I also have I82, the followup, which I hear isn't anywhere near as good.....more twisted-metal than I76 was. Dunno how it would work with a wheel.
There aren't alot of good driving games for the PC that don't require a horse of a PC to run.....my mamecab is a 1.5Ghz Athlon, and at that speed alot of games just flake out. I've had better results hooking my PS2 into the TV used in my Mamecab and running those games on the cab, with the wheel clamped to the control panel. Works good, but playing driving games standing up can get pretty tiresome.
