Does anyone have an arkanoid who could take a picture of the spinner guts for me? I need to see the color of wire going to each lead to figure out which pin is which. Thanks in advance

Here's a thread with a couple of picturs of some other optic boards. I have been able to figure out some optic boards from similar pictures by tracing the circuitboard and seeing which ones go to the resistor:

cool! thanks--I'll see if I can piece it together based on that. I'll post pics back in that thread for a running spinner pinout page.

I have an Arkanoid running on my cab. The pinout is as follows (left to right)
Green Black Red Blue
X1 GND 5V X2
As far as the placement, here's a cheesy picture (sorry my cam is not very good at closeups)

Thanks--I have that exact setup and it doesn't work so I suspect I have a spinner optics failure or the optipac isn't registering it (unlikley since the trackball works fine--but you never know) Guess I'll try replacing the optics and see if that helps...

I got an Arkanoid spinner recently in a box of parts. It looks good, but it buzzes like mad. I don't remember it doing that when I played it at the pizza place unless you spun it really hard (like when you were heading for that warp/exit thing on the side).
Is my memory messed up, or is something out of whack with this spinner? Were the gears lubricated or anything?

I have one too. It does pretty much the same thing.
You have to remember that when installed in a solid commercial quality cabinet, the control panel dampened much of the noise.
On the other hand, it could certainly use a cleaning + re-lube.

Mine's already really clean- like mabye it was never even used. But there's no sign of ANY lube on it... that's what I was wondering about. Where did you lube yours, on the gears, the shafts, or both? What did you lube with?
Thanx!
