Calling all vectorhead gurus.. :)
As one might be aware, I am currently compiling a stencil for the generic Taito sideart (ie Jungle Hunt, Elevator Action Qix.....)
'Wade' supplied me with some dimensions (due to lack of quality scans/pics) to start the project.
Due to it being dimension based (90%), I complied it in DeltaCAD (my preference...but definately not the best) and then exported it to Illustrator 10 as a .dxf file (only illustrator relevant available export option in DeltaCAD). Fine. All went well.
I then began to trace the rest of the bezel curves and touch up lines over very average digital pics.
PROBLEM?? During the transfer from DeltaCAD to Illustrator 10, each individual line is designated as a single path (which I expected). This is obviously hindering color fills.
HOW CAN I (if possible!!) SELECT THE RELEVANT INDIVIDUAL PATHS RELATED TO A SINGLE COLOR FILL AND MERGE THEM TO MAKE A SINGLE PATH FOR THAT LAYER???? EG select only the base outline of the cabinet, merge the individual paths, then select color fill as normal within that selection??
Did you get all that?????
Mahuti....Tbombaci.....Nannuu..... any guru.
Little help!!?
Cheers in advance and excuse my ignorance!

I guess it would be easier to just group the layers
as far as I know this is possible, it involves a lot of tweaking.
you should select the 2 ends of the 2 individuals path to join. just the terminal point, not the whole path. and then using the join option from the object menu (apple J, on MacOS) you can merge the 2 path to a single one
and repeat the step over and over to join all the path
you will have to perform this step as much time as the full path has elements ;-(

Thanks for the prompt reply Zorg.
I'll give that option a try. I'm currently at work...so it'll have to wait.
Sometimes the answers are staring you in the face. :)
Cross fingers.

Still having problems. Zorgs answer didn't seem to work.. Not under my hands anyway!!
I am hoping one of the Vector Guru's can take a look at my Illustrator file of the Taito side-art stencil, to see if they can correct my problem. An individual path for each line/bezel curve = quite a mess!!
The illustrator file also has 2 dodgy jpegs that I've been using as a basic reference. File available via email.
Calling all Guru's.
Little help!!
Cheers in advance.

Your friendly neighbourhood 'Zorg' has grabbed it to take a look.
Good to see people putting up their hands to help.
Gotta love that Arcade Enthusiasm!
