Post by: PinoyArcade on June 29, 2004, 06:37:05 pm
Is this already emulated?

I don't think anyone has emulated the Naomi board yet, so I would say no.  There's always the Dreamcast or PS2 versions though.

Chankast is a promising new Dreamcast emulator that may play mvsc2 ok.

I have the DC version. If you really want to play it, just pick up a DC.  They are really cheap and it has a lot of fun arcade games.

I think there is an xbox version too.

of course you could buy a dreamcast and the entire capcom back cataligue for dreamcase for less than an xbox would cost, but hey, since when did we worry about how much something to go into the cabinet costs?  (for me it was when the missus saw my credit card bill, now THAT was a worry.

I think all the Sega NAOMI carts have been dumped ... it's just that no one has done anything with it yet  :) (I'm guessing there's some kind of encyption holding them back  ;D )

can I set-up a dreamcast and put it in a cab and set it up like a normal arcade game ( with insert coin/tokens, etc) ? I dont like using PS because of its 'loading' time...

sorry never played a dreamcast yet

It's out on PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and Dreamcast.... so take your pick because it probably won't be emulated (aside from possibly chankast) any time soon.

For the most part, the loading times are not too bad.  However, the DC will not be setup like a normal arcade game.  Most of the DC arcade ports are equal if not better than their arcade counter parts - but they will not display insert coin.  If you really must have the insert quarters display, there is a device that makes the DC accept quarters w/ display, but I do not know much about it other than that it exists.

Here are your options:
Playstation 2, Dreamcast and X-Box. There was never a Gamecube port of it [Although there was a capcom vs snk port to GC]

Theres a device on www.lik-sang.com that attaches your PS2 or DC to a  Jamma interface. So check that out.

Hope I can help.

Searched that site for "Jamma" and couldn't find anything that obviously does that....do you have a direct link?
