Title: Wirelessly control your MAME Cabinet or computer
Post by: Mah_Freend_Amee on June 29, 2004, 01:26:08 am
I just built a infrared receiver for my computer to controller and it works great.  I was wondering if any one would be interested in purchasing one if i made some more.  It uses WinLirc to control the computer and works with any infrared remote control.  It is made from ten to twenty dollars of pieces so I will sell it for about twenty dollars if anyone expresses an interest.

I tried to make one of those a while ago and had no luck. Although I don't need one now because I just use my wireless keyboard but now I am mad I couldn't get it to work.  ??? Is it the one that will learn and transmit? Those look very nice.

I have yet to build the transmitter but the receiver is really what i was interested in.  It is great for playing music or starting up my frontend.

So this allows you to power up your computer and turn it off with the use of a remote? Do you have to cut any wires...or how does it connect?

It connects to the serial port.  It will shutdown the computer but it will not power up the computer.
